The enjoyment of music has not always been possible for many groups since the song sheets and books available are set in a size of type far too small. Accordingly, in 1970 the residents of Markhaven decided to develop a large-print song book for Homes for the Aged, Elderly Persons' Centres, Senior Citizens' Clubs and other meeting places.

Many residents, members and staff of Homes, Clubs and Centres made recommendations and contributions which helped compile a meaningful collection of songs for senior citizens. It should be noted that only the lyrics are shown in this large-print song book.
